Battery disposal information
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are required to draw your attention to the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You may return used batteries that we currently sell or previously sold as new batteries to us at your own expense, or return them free of charge at our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you may take the batteries to local collection points.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. Batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols shown on batteries have the following meanings:
The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol means that the battery must not be placed in household waste.
For batteries containing a specified mass of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following abbreviations beneath the crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol indicate the respective harmful substances:

Personal return
Return at our shipping warehouse is free of charge. Please arrange a personal handover with us in advance.

Meaning of battery symbols
Crossed-out wheeled bin
The battery must not be placed in household waste.
Lead
The battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass.
Cadmium
The battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass.
Mercury
The battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass.

Safety information for lithium batteries
This practical safety information supplements the legal text and is particularly relevant to batteries in microneedling pens.
Do not send damaged or abnormal lithium batteries as ordinary parcels
Swollen, leaking, deformed, unusually warm or otherwise damaged lithium batteries must not be sent to us as ordinary mail or parcels without prior consultation. This also applies where the battery is permanently installed in a device.
- Contact us before returning any damaged or abnormal battery.
- Do not open, crush, pierce or modify the battery.
- Protect the contacts of undamaged removable batteries against short circuits using non-conductive adhesive tape.
- If there is smoke, intense heat or an immediate fire risk, do not transport the battery. Keep your distance and contact the fire service where necessary.
- Avoid skin contact with leaked substances and keep the battery away from combustible materials.

Microneedling pens with permanently installed batteries
A complete microneedling pen with a permanently installed battery is not merely a used battery; it is waste electrical equipment. Additional rules apply to the disposal of the complete device.
Battery can be removed safely
Where the battery can be removed safely and without damage in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, return it separately from the device.
Battery is permanently installed
Where the battery is permanently installed or cannot be removed safely, do not force the microneedling pen open.
Complete device
The complete device must be returned separately as waste electrical equipment. This battery page does not replace the separate information required for waste electrical equipment.

May batteries be placed in household waste?
No. Batteries must be collected separately and taken to a suitable return or collection point.
Can I send used batteries back to prpmed?
Yes. According to the legal text, return shipping is at your own expense. Personal return at our shipping warehouse is free of charge.
Can I use a local collection point?
Yes. Local collection points are expressly listed as an alternative return option.
What applies to a damaged lithium battery?
Do not send it as an ordinary parcel. Contact us first so that a safe return route can be agreed.
May I remove a permanently installed battery myself?
Only where this is safe and possible without damage in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise, do not force the device open.
What do Pb, Cd and Hg mean?
According to the legal text, the abbreviations indicate specified mass fractions of lead, cadmium or mercury.
