Interactive · Penetration depth
How far a needle reaches at what length
Drag the slider through the needle lengths. The graphic arranges the lengths anatomically. It is a schematic orientationThe actual penetration depth may vary from the nominal needle length depending on the skin area, skin thickness, pressure, and technique. The gold line marks the 1.5 mm of this product.
Possible dermal penetration depth
At 1.5 mm, the microchannels can extend into the dermis, depending on the area and technique. Clinical and experimental studies show that the actual depth is not identical in every area of the skin.

Six lengths in the program
The same roller, six penetration depths
All six rollers are identical in construction: 192 titanium needles, same handle, same roller. The only difference is the needle length – and this determines which layer of skin is reached, whether blood flows, and who is allowed to use them.

hygiene
The one rule that decides everything else
Hygiene takes priority. Blood contact may occur during skin-penetrating application. Reuse is only permitted if intended by the manufacturer and a suitable, validated reprocessing method is available. If corresponding manufacturer instructions are lacking, this product page should not replace your own reprocessing method.
- Before use Open packaging only immediately before use. Check needles for bending against the light. Discard any damaged roller.
- During application Do not wipe or mechanically stress the needle roller. Discontinue use and discard the roller if visible damage or malfunction occurs.
- After application Further use or reprocessing only in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the company's hygiene plan. Do not establish your own reprocessing procedure without validated reprocessing instructions.
- Sort out Dispose of the needles if they are blunt, bent, or missing, if the roller is jammed, or after reaching a usage limit specified by the manufacturer. Dispose of safely in accordance with the company's hygiene and waste management plan.
These steps do not replace a hygiene plan. The specific agents, contact times, and documentation requirements that apply to your business are determined by your hygiene plan, the regulations of the responsible health authority, and the equipment manufacturer's instructions.

What the device requires
Before and during
- Medical history and explanation. Inquire about reasons for exclusion, discuss the procedure and possible reactions, and document consent.
- Prepare the skin. Clean and degrease thoroughly, then apply a suitable skin antiseptic with a sufficient contact time.
- Limit the area. Eyelids, red of the lips, mucous membranes, moles and unclear skin changes are left out.
- Work consistently. Roll without pressure; the weight of the device is sufficient. Lift before each change of direction, otherwise the needles will break.
- Cancel. In case of severe bleeding, pain exceeding expectations, or an unusual skin reaction, the application should be discontinued.

- Not a product for home use. Sale exclusively to commercial users and their authorized representatives. With a needle length of 1.5 mm, application is an invasive procedure.

Practical questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no information about wrinkles, scars, or collagen on this page?
Such statements require a sound basis and must correspond to the intended purpose specified by the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer's information, no medical purpose is specified for this product. Therefore, prpmed limits its description to construction, needle length, handling, and hygiene.
Is the often-cited claim of "up to 3000% better drug absorption" accurate?
< It is unsubstantiated and originates from advertising material that refers to entirely different needle lengths. A figure without a reliable basis constitutes misleading advertising. prpmed provides no information regarding the absorption of active ingredients.May I use the scooter for multiple clients if I disinfect it?
Simple disinfection of a skin-penetrating instrument does not automatically grant permission for reuse by multiple users. Manufacturer's instructions, a validated reprocessing procedure, and the company's hygiene plan are crucial. Without such permission, reuse by multiple users is not recommended.
How many times can one person use the same scooter?
As long as the needles are undamaged and sharp, and the roller rotates freely, use within the manufacturer's instructions. Dull or bent needles will tear the skin instead of perforating it. If in doubt, replace it – the roller is a consumable item.
Do I need a numbing cream?
prpmed makes no recommendation on this matter. Local anesthetic preparations are only available from pharmacies or by prescription in Germany; their application and the provision of information about them do not fall under the cosmetic category.
Who is allowed to work with 1.5 mm?
This depends on professional qualifications, the specific purpose of the application, and the applicable national law. Needle length alone does not answer the question regarding professional regulations.
What is the difference to a roller with 0.25 or 0.5 mm?
The nominal needle length, and therefore the potential penetration depth, is the most important factor. The actual depth achieved also depends on the skin area, skin thickness, pressure, and technique. As needle length increases, so do the requirements for qualifications, hygiene, and risk assessment.
Technical safety information: At 1.5 mm, pinpoint bleeding can occur – depending on the skin area, pressure, and technique. While pinpoint bleeding is frequently described as a clinical endpoint in the literature, it is not a treatment goal that should be universally enforced.
