Why choose an alcohol-free disinfectant?

- Ingestion of alcohol-based hand sanitizers can pose a serious hazard and even lead to alcohol poisoning, especially in young children.

- Alcohol-based formulations are flammable, which can compromise the safety of a building if they fall into the wrong hands.

- If frequent hand sanitizing is required, repeated use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer can irritate the skin and strip it of the natural protective oils needed for healthy skin care. This causes small cracks to form in the skin where bacteria and germs can accumulate, which in turn can lead to fungal growth and, in the case of larger skin tears, bleeding.

Did you know that alcohol-based disinfectants become ineffective once their concentration drops below a certain level - that is, once some of it has evaporated from your hands? The protection of an alcohol-based disinfectant lasts only as long as you feel it on your skin; once it evaporates, the protection ends.

What is HYDROXIL?

General description

HYDROXIL is a world-leading disinfectant characterized by being alcohol-free. With over 18 years of production experience, HYDROXIL has established itself as a reliable and efficient partner in the fight against various pathogens. This article is about better understanding the product, its benefits and applications, and why it is the ideal choice for anyone looking for an effective and skin-friendly disinfectant.

Product overview

HYDROXIL offers a wide range of products in different sizes and for different applications. The offer ranges from small containers of 0.1 liters, ideal for home use, to larger containers of 5 liters, suitable for commercial and industrial cleaning.

Why alcohol-free disinfectant from HYDROXIL?

High efficiency

HYDROXIL shows high efficacy against 99.99% of bacteria, germs, spores and viruses, including the Sars-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. It has been tested in accredited testing laboratories and certified to various DIN EN standards, including EN 14476, EN 13697, EN 14348, EN 17126, EN 13727, EN 13624 and EN 13623.

HYDROXIL is an alcohol-free disinfectant and therefore not a hazardous material. The advantages of this alcohol-free formulation are many. It is non-flammable and has a low material consumption. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in both household and commercial settings. In addition, HYDROXIL is free of phenols, surfactants and colorants and fragrances, making it particularly gentle on people with sensitive skin or allergies.

Alcohol-free disinfectants have a number of advantages over alcohol-based disinfectants. They are gentler on the skin and do not dry it out. Alcohol-free disinfectants are also suitable for people with sensitive skin. They are also safer to use and can be used on delicate surfaces such as leather and plastic.

Alcohol-free disinfectants are also effective against a variety of bacteria and viruses, including COVID-191. They are also more environmentally friendly than alcohol-based disinfectants and can usually be recycled.

The science behind HYDROXIL

In times of global health crises such as the COVID 19 pandemic, the demand for effective and safe disinfectants has increased dramatically. In this context, HYDROXIL, an alcohol-free disinfectant, has established itself as an effective alternative to conventional alcohol-based products. With its universal applicability and sustainability, HYDROXIL represents an important innovation in the world of hygiene.

HYDROXIL is proven effective against a wide range of pathogens, including various types of bacteria, germs, spores and viruses. The effectiveness of the disinfectant is confirmed by a number of accredited testing laboratories, which have tested HYDROXIL according to various DIN EN standards.

Specific efficacy against viruses

The efficacy of HYDROXIL against various types of viruses should be emphasized. HYDROXIL has been shown to be 99.99% effective against various viruses, including but not limited to Coronaviridae (such as MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2), HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV), norovirus, influenza virus, adenovirus, poliovirus, herpesviridae and Ebolavirus.

Advantages of alcohol-free disinfectants

In times of pandemics and increasing global health risks, the use of disinfectants has become an important part of our daily lives. Traditionally, most disinfectants are alcohol-based, but in recent years, alcohol-free disinfectants have gained popularity. In this article, we look at the benefits of alcohol-free disinfectants and why they can be a beneficial alternative to traditional alcohol-based products.

Effectiveness against viruses and bacteria

A major advantage of alcohol-free disinfectants is their effectiveness against viruses and bacteria. One example is the alcohol-free HOCl-based disinfectant. The electrical charge of the water breaks down or blasts the envelope membrane of bacteria and viruses. The bacteria and viruses then oxidize and are proven to be reliably and permanently killed within 15 seconds.

The global health crisis triggered by coronaviruses has brought the importance of hand hygiene to the forefront. Interestingly, a study by Brigham Young University has shown that alcohol-free disinfectants are also an effective means of killing coronaviruses. In addition, alcohol-free hand sanitizers have been shown to be as effective as alcohol-based products in disinfecting surfaces contaminated with the Covid 19 virus.

Advantages for skin health

A major disadvantage of alcohol-based disinfectants is that they can cause skin problems if used frequently. This is particularly true for people who work in healthcare professions and have to disinfect their hands regularly. In such cases, alcohol-free disinfectants can be a good alternative, as they are often less irritating to the skin and less drying.

Many users of alcohol-based disinfectants report skin problems, especially with frequent use. Here, alcohol-free products offer an excellent alternative because, as studies show, they are just as skin-compatible as alcohol.

Advantages for the medical staff

Alcohol-free disinfectants can improve hygiene compliance, especially in medical facilities where frequent hand washing and disinfection is required. Because they cause less damage to the skin, they can improve compliance.
