APPLICATION AREAS

Clinical

  • The rotating rotor with 6 positions makes this centrifuge the ideal choice for blood collection tubes with separating gel.
AREAS OF OPERATION
  • Medical practices
  • Veterinary practices
  • Small laboratories
  • Blood sampling for field work
Features and advantages of Hettich EBA 270

In the swing-out rotor, sedimentation takes place in the direction of the vessel axis so that the components form horizontal layers of uniform thickness. A horizontally formed gel layer has the advantage that it not only reliably separates the plasma/serum from the solid blood components, but also ensures that this separation is maintained during transport of the sample tube from the doctor's office to the analysis laboratory.

Intended use

This device is a medical device (laboratory centrifuge) in the sense of the IVD Directive

98/79/EC.

The centrifuge is used to separate substances or mixtures of substances with a density of max. 1.2 kg/dm³,

in particular samples for preparation for in-vitro diagnostics in human medicine.

This includes in particular the determination of potassium in blood serum. The running behavior ensures gentle separation and

prevents the accumulation of additional erythrocyte potassium in the serum. This prevents falsification of the

test results is thus prevented.

The centrifuge is intended for this use only.
